Ready to Go! Single
We're excited to share our second single for 2024. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it!
I Feel You Single
Released in March 2024, we wrote this song around a synth-line idea that became the catchy opening melody. People on SoundCloud have compared the track to New Order, saying it has an awesome 80s vibe.
Nature Morte LP
Recorded over seven years, we progressively released each song as a single and then boxed them up in 2023 to form this full-length album. This album is the first Chinchy music written on our Akai MPC Renaissance. The ten tracks were mixed by Virtual Mix Engineer and mastered by Matthew Gray.
Midnight Explosions EP
A collaboration with a Ukrainian friend led to the creation of this popular EP. As of October 2024, the song "Севасто́поль" (Sevastopol) has the highest number of listens on Chinchy's SoundCloud. This song, along with "Viridian Wings", was recorded 11 years ago and packaged as an EP in 2023.
The Grafenberg Spot LP
Chinchy became part of the online label Illumination Records back in 2006, alongside some other awesome Australian bands like dog_boy_lover, Simulcast, and Toydeath. The label's founder, Heath Killen, a talented graphic designer, created the album art for this release. Chinchy’s second full-length album, which came out in 2013, was described by Triple J presenter Linda Marigliano as "The Bloodhound Gang, King Missile, and Deftones had a baby!" Pretty cool, right? This album features some of the last music we recorded with our beloved Roland MC909 Groovebox. RIP.
This is Chinchy LP
We recorded our debut album at our home studio, Penny Pressed Studios, using a Roland VS890 8-track and at Wild Blue Music. Loads of local Townsville musicians popped in to add their unique touches along the way. The album was released in 2006 and ended up on SoundCloud many years later.
Serve it Up EP
In 2000, we recorded this EP on a Roland D2 Groovebox during Christmas time. We made 25 copies for our family and friends. Fun fact: one of these copies ended up in a local pawn store. We hope they got a reasonable price for it! Thanks to Rob Stanier for handling the mixing and mastering duties at the now-defunct Stanier Studios.
